The speaker put two main points on display.firstly,species which is going to be extinct are natural phenomenon which means that its extinction has nothing to do with human behaviors.secondly,human should not make extraodinary efforts,such as losts of money and jobs,to save endangered species.generally,I agree with the statement, but there are also some details worthy of debating.Indeed,extinction of species is a natural phenomenon,but since long ago, human behavior has became a sort of catalyst which precipitate the death of wild animals.Also,though human should not put excessive efforts on saving endangered animals ,but it doesn't make any sense if we don't pay any attention to salvage them.

I admit that many kinds of species also become extinct before human beings appear in the earth thousands years ago , but it doesn't mean that human's unreasonable behavior to the nature for purchasing profits have nothing to do with the decreasing number of wild animals which is becoming extinct. Deforestation,pollution of the air and the water,illegal hunting,all of which are done for privacy interests,are exactly destructing ecological balance.The inhabitants gradually become homeless,drink polluted water and breath polluted air.How could this not be a catalyst for wild species to become extinct?

Since human behavior is a part of reasons that promote wild animals to extinction,government's measures about closing factories and purifying polluted waters behooves.though jobs will be lost and money would be cost, we could benefit from this.Such as elephant from which we could get the ivory and Tibetan antelops whose cashmere is of great value.



Although the mistake that made by human to gain benefits by damage ecological balance should be made up,yet excessive effort is unneccessary because of the future of ourselves.As long as enough efforts and funds have been paid to reduce the pollution to the environment , build new homes of wild animals as zoos and prevent animals from being hunted illegally,we should focus more power on development of society,technology and economic.How could others being cared without problems of ourselves,such as unemployment,starvation and sustainable development being solved?

To sum up, while endangered species should be protected obligatory , the development of human being occupy the priority.After all, how can we protect animals if we exhaust almost all power to protect them without protecting ourselves?
