I agree with the statement that appearance and behaviors are important indicators for judging aperson and further to tell the characteristics of a society,however,they maynot the most effective and only thing as they seem to be.

Admittedly,from the way people look and act,we can get a general ideas of what kind of person he is,to some extent,most times this method do works.A professor in a university may not be regarded as a rock star due to their significant difference in appearence,especially the clothes they uausally wear.And two peope one from North Korea and another from South Korea are also can be easily distinguished because one of them may only talk about Kim Jong Ll and another may exchange ideas about the climate change and the human rights with you.

However,what the appearance can tell us is limited.Unfortunately it is only the dream of most of us thatwhat hidden in our hearts can be fully revealed by our acts and appearance.We regard everyone in the world is as honest as us,but actually human beings are such aspecial kind of animals that unlike the dogs and cats--we can pertend,canlie,can cheat.In order to achieve some goals,we can pretend to be another kindof person totally different.We can see from newspapers that many poor peopleare cheated by those who pretend to be a millionaire,a policeman or agovernment officer everyday.And One can wears the uniforms of police, sit in apolice car and talk like a policeman to ask you to tell him the password ofyour credit card,but he can either be a real policeman or a deceiver.Their attitudes may not protect the justice of the law,butto steal money from you.What's more,what we usually do donesn't means that itis what we really have interests in.You can see children spend much time on doing homeworks,but actually fewer of them have interested in study,they may be much happier if parents allow them to play vedio games.We also can see your neighbour jogs everyday,but he may tell you that he just forces himself to follow the advice of his doctor and he hates jogging.What people act and they look,or dress may not perfectly reflect what they think,sometimes the true ideas and attitudes
are even the opposite.

In addition ,as the development of modern societies,it is becoming more and more difficult totell exactly the ideas and values of a society from the people's attitudes and interests we know. The mixed culture makes all different values and ideas being mixed together, thus we can find different ideas and values exist in one society,no one can be in a dominant position,and people have to pretend or forced to be what they are in favour of thus in order to find their identities in a particular social group.Should we regard those we get from the acts and appearance of rich people as the values and ideas of the society or those from the poor people?Are those truly reflect their ideas and attitudes?The poor people may strugglefor money to feed their family but actually they don’t think money but arts is the first only choice,and they may seem to care nothing about the racism but actually they hate it;however,the people who are higher ranked may seem to reagard arts but not money as what they most perfered but actually they spend most of their time on finding ways to get more money,and they may pay much emphasis on protecting the equality of the society however in deed they are just pretend in order to be accepted by society and they are real racists.If we want to know much about the real ideas and values of a societyis,only by studying the simple appearance and acts of its people is far moreless than enough.

To sum up,becauseof the human natures,it is difficult to identify clearly a person’s real attitudes and interests only by one means—the appearance and their acts.As the old Chinese saying goes:” It's easy to know people's names and faces, But nottheir hearts.”,it really need efforts to know a person and a society.
