My issue,请指教!谢谢!
请给点意见.谢谢. 题目如下:
The true strengh of a country is best demonstrated by the willingness of its government to tolerate challenges from its owncitizens.
Does political toleration add to the strength of a country? As it ameliorates the relationship between the government and the public, favoring improving efficiency of the government, I agree with the title, regarding it as very important contribution to the strength of a country.
Political toleration to the challenge from citizens helps unite the government and the public together to develop a country. As common experience tells us, you will gain esteems and forgiveness from those who hold hostile attitude towards you. Similarly, if government does not present to be presumptuous and arbitrary pose, instead, focusing on the root of dissatisfactions well as well as best solutions and placing them on an equal position with itself, there would be more harmony between them. But extreme suppression will only provoke more aggression on people and affirm their will to go on challenging, which intensify the conflict, harming both sides. As a good case in point, in the Second World War, the betrayal deeds of Chinese government at that time exasperated reprobation throughout the country. A lot of petitions and large-scale demonstrations with the will to persuade the government to immediately plunge into the war against Japanese fascism sprang up. However, the government not only refused to satisfy with people’s demand, but also committed atrocious suppression, which violated even more righteous people. The more victims in the suppression, the more demonstration held, extremely weakening cohesion of the country and resulting the final collapse of the government.
The tendency to draw the focus of government’s attention on solving problems rather than suppression, toleration bringing more attention on problems enables the government to find out more flaws of its work and improve performance. In the process of getting close to problems causing sharp discrepancies, the government attains to get full observation of the negative effects of their policies and accumulation a lot of worthwhile suggestions from the people, which both facilitates the government to adopt effective measures in the future work. For example, in the early days of People’s Republic of China, left-side mistakes lead the government to apply a set of extreme economical policies to agriculture, which imposed great burden on farmers and heavily inhibited the development of agriculture. But it quickly wakes up after receiving complaints from farmers. After careful investigation and full discussion on problems reflected, a series of adjustment was made, which regains economical vitality for the village and more convince from the people for the government.
However, here comes a problem, should the government completely restrain its own principles and tolerate all challenges from citizens including evil ones? Definitely no. Government should never be moderate to commission threatening the people’s interests and the development of the country. It is up to make a set of laws to squash them.
In sum, with the relationship between the government and the people playing an important role in strengthening the country, government has to resort to toleration of challenges of citizens except evil ones. |
