Multiple Graduate Research Assistant Fellowships (Ph.D. in Biochemistry) and

Postdoctoral Research Associate Positions Available at GSU, Atlanta, USA

Georgia State University is a major university in the southeast region of the United

States. The Department of Chemistry runs a strong graduate program with annual

extramural funding exceeding six million dollars and over hundred graduate students, most

of which are Ph.D. students. Atlanta, where it is located, is a rising metropolis fun to live,

with numerous Chinese supermarkets (for food) scattered throughout neighborhoods in the

city. As the main hub and headquarters of Delta Airlines, the chance is that it is easy to get

around to anywhere in the world.

The Liu laboratory in the Department of Chemistry at Georgia State has openings for

highly motivated graduate students and postdoctoral research associates. The on-going

research focus of the Liu laboratory at GSU and recent publications are highlighted at

The ideal graduate students should have a solid education background in one of the

chemistry areas (inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry, biochemistry, or biophysics), the

ability to communicate in English, and a strong desire to conduct top quality scientific

research.

Postdoctoral candidates should have a specialized professional expertise in either

chemistry or biology research areas and should have a strong record in publication.

The successful graduate candidates will enter graduate program in either January or

Fall 2011 and will be granted an annual stipend in the range of $18,000-25,000 (increased

annually based on performance) and tuition wavier (a $25,000+ equivalent). Successful

postdoctoral applicants may get started immediately, provided that an entry visa is

available from the US embassy. Postdoctoral salary depends on experience. If interested,
