"In the age of television, reading books is not as important as it once was. People can learn as much by watching television as they can by reading books."

With the advent of information era, huge changes have been taken place in every aspect of people’s life. For example, automobiles have taken place of bicycles and horses becoming the most effective transport in the modern world, the emergence of television and computer have greatly changed modern people’s daily life. In that case, I concede that reading books is becoming less necessary as it were before considering much same information can be acquired from television. However, I still believe that people can learn much more important and various knowledge by reading books than by simply watching television.
Fist of all, books are the accumulation of human’s wisdom which can not be replaced by certain television shows. Many books are the result of one individual’s diligent hardworking; some are even created by one’s life time. Such as the first novel in China HongLouMeng, which considered as one of the greatest masterpiece in human’s history, even now there are some scholars are devoting to interpreting this novel. This book has been adapted to TV serial. However, everyone who has read this book found that the book is far better than its series. Because book contains much more appealing detail information and expresses in a more implicated way that may intrigue viewer’s imagination. That is why so many best-sellers become unwelcome when they adapted into movies. By reading book, readers can found the imagination which fail to be interpret by watching television.
It is true that some books are made for just entertain people that we can get the same thing by watching television such as short comic story book and some pictorials. Entertaining shows make an important part in TV programs. When we are tired after a day of hard work we can turn on the TV and a lot of comic shows will pop up giving our brains rests. The same effectiveness applies to reading comic books. Peoples open up a comic book mostly because of its relaxing function. Regularly, we read a comic book to have some laughers and then we totally forget it after a period of busy life. In that case, reading books and watching TV has the same effect on viewers.
However, no matter how development people’s life can be nothing can take the place of book in education. Although, computers have gradually become important in student’s life, books are still can not be ignored. For its detailed and specific knowledge, book is always the major instrument in education. Students can not live without books just like the fish can not live without water. Once in my childhood, my teacher told me books are students’ weapon which equip us to be a better men in our way of success. This is far beyond watching television can do.
In sum, television is becoming more and more capable, but its advent doesn’t minimize books importance. Although, sometimes, we can get the same information from TV as from books, there are still a sea of benefits of reading books can not be taken places.

我觉得这句比较多余。直接抛出电视是众多科技的一种，普及最多影响最深感觉跟切合主题，而且跟你下面抛出的观点更联贯。不建议在开头for example然后提出关键词的同类，比如这个题目谈tv就不要说电脑，汽车。模糊关键词对你论证没有任何帮助。

论点找的也不太好  第一条书是作者智慧的结晶，跟tv shows做比较，这怎么对的上呢？不是也有去采风N年凝聚多人的实地勘察做出来的知识性节目，比如discovery吗？一开始比较，没有把books跟tv放在一个平等的位置上衡量，后面再怎么写都难以让人信服。
