212. "If a goal is worthy, then any means taken to attain it is justifiable."
In the modern society, many people think that any means taken to attain a goal is justifiable if it is worthy. Undeniable, this is the truth in many fields, however, I can’t agree with the conclusion when it comes to the business or something like that.

It’s obvious that the only aim for business is to make profits. Only two methods can help achieve the goal, one is promoting the sales while the other one is reducing cost. The former depends on the market recognize and consumers’ psychology, in other words, hard to control by themselves. Nevertheless the company could use many means to reduce cost, and most of them are illegal, which may not be accepted by us. A case to this point is that a milk manufacturer put a kind of poisonous chemical into their production to decrease the use of protein, in order to reduce cost. The behavior has broken the law and makes the fame of company down to floor. Thus, the illegal way to attain the goal is unjustifiable, which even will be made to pay for one's evil doings in the end.

It’s same with the field of art and liberal. To achieve one’s goal by making arduous efforts is a proper method. However, more and more people choose to copy others’ composition for the purpose of promoting his prestige. It is definitely being contrary to the goal we want to achieve at the beginning, what’s more, the money and reputation brought by this won’t be the real success to them.


Admittedly, in order to achieve the goal we dreamed, some unusual methods should be made full use of. For example, politician needs more communication with the civilians sometimes instead of meet countless presidents form other countries day after day to produce the nation’s developing plan, not only care for the basic life of civilians but also make them feel warm, then raise his support level. When it refers to the business negotiation, the public relations are also important. A wise businessman understands how to utilize a good public-relation mean to make the trade easily accepted. Therefore, an effect way to achieve the goal should never be ignored.

From what has been discussed above, on one side, we should take proper methods to achieve our goals, on the flip side, the illegal methods must be dropped even though it makes a great help to what we want.
