The arguer recommends all the stockholders and investor should withdraw their demands of investments in the Old Dairy company because the sales of the company will greatly diminish and the profit will therefore decrease. To support the argument, the author cites a survey, which claim 80% of its respondents have a desire of reduction in eating the high-fat food, to illustrate the strong possibility of potential loss of the company’s profit. However, the argument neglects several factors that are crucial to substantiate its opinion so as to convince readers.

First of all, the author uses a survey and tries to emphasize the proportion of the people who do not want to have any high fat food in population is extremely huge. However, the author do not describe more details of the survey, which is also imperative for its validity, like background, statistic method etc. For example, if the statistic work just enquire the bulk of people with strong willingness to lose their weight due to their unpleasant figure, then the data cannot justify the common attitudes of folks. Instead of the population, the survey is merely the reflection of preferences of a certain group people.

Secondly, even if the statistic figure reveal the reality of predilection on average, it cannot certainly prove the decrease of sales, because the high-fat food is only one kind of different products made by company. The newsletter does not tell us all of the products of the company. Assuming more and more people begin to eat other food instead of the high-fat food, it is likely for company to earn for this situation by providing soft leverages or no sugar desserts.

Also, the argument supposes the loss in sales must bring a poorer profit. It does not make sense either. With even a litter piece of mathematic knowledge, could we understand profit equals the number of sales times price minus costs. So the drop down of sales does not necessarily incur a lower revenue than before. Plus the manager of this company may also figure out other strategies and adjust their sales management in the market.

Finally, the argument asserts it is appropriate to get rid of holding the shares of the company, based on the possibility of profit decreasing in the future. Maybe in one time, the loss in firm’s earnings would not benefit the welfare of shareholders. But if we take more time into consideration, holding the stocks, even in the bear time, is not unreasonable. Because investors are not only supposed to care about the dividends, fluctuations of stock prices, or repurchases at higher price, but also pay attention to the enterprises future. However disappointed the firm work at one time, in long term, a bright future may appears.

In conclusion, the advice is not well supported. To persuade me, the author need to make a more precise and broad survey about the common preference about the predilections about foods. And more profound information about the commodities should also be provided to analyze the gain and loss from the transformation of people purchases. To better evaluate the effect of the changes on the shareholders, we have to find more financial documentaries and accounts to judge whether the shareholders should evacuate from the stock with accuracy.

To conclude,
整体上该做到的都做到了,没有什么大问题。
可以参考好的范文,写得更灵活一些。
