根本这就是中国扭曲备考的一个根源
ETS官方发布的AW INTRODUTION原文:
Because the Argument task is meant to assess analytical writing andinformal reasoning skills that you have developed throughout your education, ithas been designed so as not to require any specific course of study or toadvantage students with a particular type of training. Many college textbookson rhetoric and composition have sections on informal logic and criticalthinking that might prove helpful, but even these might be more detailed andtechnical than the task requires. You will not be expected to know methods ofanalysis or technical terms. For instance, in one topic an elementary schoolprincipal might conclude that the new playground equipment has improved studentattendance because absentee rates have declined since it was installed. Youwill not need to see that the principal has committed the post hoc, ergo propter hoc fallacy; you willsimply need to see that there are other possible explanations for the improvedattendance, to offer some common-sense examples, and perhaps to suggest whatwould be necessary to
verify theconclusion. For instance, absentee rates might have decreased because theclimate was mild. |
