The speaker asserted that contrast the points of view between a group of people in discussion is the best way to progress. Although I am not very agree with the speaker that progress is best made through discussion. However, I am broad concede with the speaker's assertion for the following reasons.

In my view, everybody is an individual, thus, different people will hold different opinions. The point of view held by others maybe is not in the same way you have thought, however, it will make the questions or discussions perfect when you combining yours and others sometimes. As we known, humanity are a kind of high-class social animals, the most important and most different characteristic from other animals is that human beings can think all by themselves, and different people have some different ideas. It is because our endless discussions between different people, the world we live can be progress. From the past to contemporary society, everything what we can see and anything what we are using are the consequences from some discussions among people who have contrasting point of view. With this kind of view, the scientists, the engineers or even educators can make a more justifiable conclusion, so that our living conditions and quality can be improved.

Therefore, with the development of science and technology, we humanity can live comfortable and convenient for the reason that leaders have made many correct decisions after some discussions among people who have contrasting point of view. For example, when a scientist or inventor is inventing some inventions, the most important and necessary step is discussing between other scientists who have contrasting points of view. From the discussions, scientists can not only find where they were wrong before, but also can improve the research, and make a better contribution for the society. In the contrary, if a scientist took a science research alone and he or she was not discuss with other scientists, no matter what questions or difficulties he or she have ever met. Obviously, this scientist can not get a progress in his or her own science research. Even if he or she was accomplished the research, however, the research can not be the best one and it must took the scientist a longer time.

In sum, progress can be making a better way through discussion among people who have contrasting point of view. No matter in which realm of human lives, such as the education, the industry or the scientific groups, in order to progress themselves, they should make a discussion between people who have contrasting points of view.
