【原文】With the development of science and technology, with the exploding
of information, with more and more distinct opinions appearing in the Internet, the knowledge ,especially in science, are renewed more and more frequent than ever before.
So, the Information Age leave us a question,that for the sake of improvement of quality of instruction at the level of the university and college, should we order that all faculty should spend time working outside academia in professions relevant to the course they teach? Concerning with the society background, my answer is almost yes.
Firstly, the working experience will enhance teachers' understanding of their own courses,which elevate the level of instruction quality. Most teachers ,gain knowledge from their teachers, from books.Seldom of them have the opportunity to check the knowledge right or not, they have learned for decades, let alone the chance to exert the original idea ,they come up with. However, the working experience provides them the option ,they always dream of. With the experience, they can not only rebuild their own system of knowledge on the basis of reality, but also prove some innovative thought, that may change the view of collegue, which supply teachers with more refreshing knowledge to instruct.
Secondly,the working experience will, in some extent, prepare students for the future career, which demonstrate the development of quality of instruction in the long run. Admittedly, there are, definitely, some problems in faculty's working. However, it can be expected that after gradution, most students will choose a job ,relevant to their majors. The difficulties they will suffer , in their first working day, is exactly what our faculty will face in their working experience. With the experience , our faculty are able to offer practical suggestion about the preparation students have to follow in the next years, which enable they adapt to their career quickly and wisely.
Thirdly, the final purpose of education is to better the society.With the proper time of work experience in relevant profession will not only provide the society more original ideas teachers figuring out when working ,but also offer the society more talent ,who learn both the fundemantal knowledge
and the hi-tech used in industry , labs and so on.
However, as the threhold matter ,we should make some qualification:(1)the working time shoud be proper, leaving the teacher enough time to prepare instruction.(2)for some research college

There is no need to ask them to work outside academic field. Such as some professors in M.I.T(3)For some courses, such as philosophy, it is hard to find some work relevant. We can force faculties to do some irrelevant work instead.
In sum, for the development of quality of instruction .in short term and in long run, our college and university should urge our faculties to do appropriate work relevant to their major, unless it’s unavailable or unnecessary.
