In this era of rapid social and technological change leading to increasingly life complexity and psychological displacement, people become more and more focus on the history research in order to find the regular pattern of development of human society. In this topic, someone indicate that only when the extent which is relevant to our daily lives could the study become significant. At the first glance, although this claim might seem plausible, it is in fact ill-conceived and ignores many potential value of the history research, both relevant issues and the research concerning obsolete issues in the history call for a balance, by which we can benefit from history research in a larger extent.

Initially, study the issues which relevant to our lives today in the history can directly help us to solve the problem we meet today and develop our society in nowadays. On the one hand, many researchers found that there are always many aspects, such as the regulation, the legislation of the society, traditional culture as well as the eating habits of people and so on, all of which, especially certain kinds of cultures, has been maintained by people hundreds of years or even thousands of years long. Researchers could study these common things between modern people and ancient people to summarize the culture and the society development along the history. Meanwhile, by these discoveries, people will be able to carry on and disseminate their own traditional culture better. On the other hand, studying the history issues enables the government or the leaders make more appropriate political decisions. Although so many years have passed, we still could find many common grounds. It is often said that, the history always similar so much, we definitely could draw lessons from history and maintain our country or our world
stable and peace.

However, when studying the history, we must aware of the development and difference between this era and ancient days. The pace of human's development is so fast that the daily lives have became completely different than before. For example, the way people communicate with each other, the vehicles people use to traffic as well as the languages people speak today, all of above are changed along the history. So there are many problems among the history we have to notice in the research, otherwise, if people passively grant and blindly imitate the history issues, not only the outcome will surely bad, but also the study becomes less significant. An appropriate instance is not very hard to seek. Researchers study the ancient Olympic Games and the process of that in order to make this world class game better today. But, the condition today when we organizing an Olympic Games have changed so much that we have to realize the difference and develop our programs better than before, we have to find the faults we made before and create new idea and methods to solve the problem, also, that will be much more appreciable if we can use new technologies or new disciplines. Thus, only take advantages from the Olympics’ history and add up our new theories can we manage to make the Olympic Games better and better.

In sum, this controversy describes the dilemma face by many people and experts in this era. However, no matter how we treat our history issues and problem, the destination is definitely helping us develop our world better today. From what has been discussed above, we can make the conclusion that, when studying the history issues, we should find a balance between the research among the relevant extents and the “obsolete” issues—find the regulations and take advantages from it, meanwhile aware of the different conditions at hand, thus we can make profit of the history and maintain a constant pace of our development.
