130"How children are socialized today determines the destinyof society. Unfortunately, we have not yet learned how to raise children whocan help bring about a better society."


Stepping into the 21stcentury, it’s universally accepted that the issue of childrensocialization and children education is playing a morevitally indispensable role in our daily life, at the same time, it has triggered spiritual debates: some individuals allege thatthe future of our society is shaped by how well children are socialized, yet inthe meantime, we have not yet acquired the ability of how to nurture them up tonow. Personally speaking, I supposed this assertion, tosome extent, is flawed and I believe that our society is alsoconditioned by many other aspects and we have acquired the capability of cultivatingchildren.


It is evident that interms of the level of physical health which childrenreach, the standard of psychological health which children receive as well asthe amount of knowledge which children acquired, society’s destiny need to be contemplated in those more sophisticated senses.To start with, children’s health could be the most tangible proof in this standpoint. For instance,without a strength immune system, children cannot do any contribution tothe development of society but cost the money which is hardly earned by theirparents or supported by the society to purchase medicine, which enhances thepressure of the society as well as pose threats to the future of our society. Subsequently, the viewpoint that the future of oursociety can be best reinforced in the realm ofchildren’s psychological standard. For example,with the growth of the number of kids who possess positive attitude towardslife, the whole society mood tend to be happier and much more cheerful. Asurvey which conducted by the NPDC (National Psychology Department of China) in2009 has shown that about 7.39% of kids (age 9-16) in China possess mentalproblems, such as mental disorder, over stressful, depression and so on, about2.47% lower than 5 years ago, and it also claimed that 19.63% more residents inChina said they were happier than 5 years ago. So, children’s mental healthplays an important role in society’s destiny. Ultimately,children’s knowledge scope will undoubtedly pose someinfluence on society over a long time. An argument in favor of this is thatthe larger scope of knowledge they acquired the more profits they will pay backto the society, which varies the diversity of the society as well as guaranteesthe stability of our society, and finally leads to a promising future of oursociety.


Turning to the second claim, as for theissue of whether we have got the ability of nurturing children to build abetter society, I firmly believe that we generally have found the solution,though not yet utterly. For example, parents tell their children to away fromdrugs, teach them how to avoid violence, let them know the importance ofrespecting those who are disabled, those who are vulnerable and those who arefool as well as impose them to respect women, ethnical groups and differentrace. Moreover, we can see our government pay much attention to the children’seducation and development. For instance, they construct modern school with advancedfacilities to make a better environment for their kids, a lot of teachers withhigh level of quality and teaching experience are added to guarantee a bettereducation standards. All these methods show that we do have learned how toraise our children who has the aptitude of bringing a colorful society.


By and large, I would concede that children’ssocialization, to some degree, influences the destiny and fate of our societyand we still need to improve our method to cultivate our kids to fit thechanging world. Still, I firmly believe that society’s destiny is determined bynumerous factors rather than merely by children’s socialization and we doacquire the competence of raising our children successfully to assume the responsibilityof bringing a better society.
