This opinion has been casted doubts on when thw professor points out that the book was published 17 years after Jean’s death, so many of her family had no idea what Jane looked like, so the illustration can not be a reliable proof.; h* P7 F* ^4 w1 p

Secondly, the passage puts emphasis on the fact that the portrait has many aspects in common with a sketch of Cassandra which provide a depiction of adult Jane Austen. However, the professor says that the Austen family is a very large family , Jane Austen had a lot relatives that the portrait is

Last, the final statement in the passage that the style of the portrait was very popular at that time, as it might be the work of Ozias whom can only be hired by a rich family as the Austen. While this point has been criticized by the professor, since it apparently neglects that the picture might be other’s work, and a stamp in back of the portrait show that it maght be draw when Jane was no longer the young girl as in the portrait.

第二还再加一个细节, 就是many critics think the portait should be Mary, one of Jane's distant nieces.
第三点是, the speaker agrued that it is chronically mistaken, it should be a late time. There is a stampl on the back the canvas which trace the source of such canvas, salesman of the canvas William . But he didn't sell the canvas until Jane was 27 year old when she already passed the teenage time.
哥们,你最后最好再加一个总结句,参考我的文章

The lecture ismainly discussing that although there are some negative effects of the privatecollector the fossil , but this effect is exaggerating. In fact the benefitbrought by the price collecting outweighs the disadvantage, contradicting whatis stated by the writing that the all effects of the private collecting aredisadvantageous.
First, the speakerthinks that it is the private collector that appeal more interest of the fossilfrom the public, rather than reduce that. The private collector can spend a lotof money on the purchase of rare or precious fossil even though the smallinstitution or library can’t afford to buy the fossil and then display it tothe public. In contrast, the writing asserts that the fossil fluxes into thepersonal gallery of the fossil collector, consequently the public lose a lotchange to appreciate the fossil in the public session, and diminish theinterest of fossil. So the lecture has totally disagreed with the view made inthe writing.
Secondly, thespeaker discusses that it is inaccurate that scientists are lost opportunity todo research on the fossil. Because the fossil is put to the counter of selling,it has to be identified. The only expert who can complete the identificationjob is the scientist. He or she will do some examination and test to check thefossil. Even before the fossil is sold to the private collector, this fossilmust has been passed to the scientist for identification so that the scientistexpert won’t miss any importance of the fossil. This point challenges what isstated in the writing that scientists are getting limited to study the fossildue to interfere of the private collector.
Finally, the speakerraises the question that the it is more important and preferable to excavatemore fossil with the help from the private collector than to keep fossil buriedunderground without any damage. Although the private collector will increasethe possibility of the fossil break or damage the excavation spot, but thebenefit that more fossils are uncovered is more important. The speaker don’tthink we should let the many fossils still keep secret, and lying under theground. This point disagrees what is demonstrated in the writing that theprivate collecting is not welcome due to its damage to the fossil or the fossilspot.
In sum, the contentof the writing is totally jeopardized by the lecture. And the speaker hastotally different ideas on the topics made in the reading. |
