9.23 independent writing
it is only worth watching movies that can teach us something about real life,agree or disagree.


As the society and technology develop, the quality of our lives have become better and better. Many facilities built for entertainment make people have more opportunity to contact with the movies. When it comes to the advantage of watching movies. Some people believe that the only one merit is that they can teach us something reflecting real life. However, in my point of view, movies could bring us more rather than only teach us about skills and solutions of problems in our daily life.

Admittedly, we can not deny the function of movies that some of them indeed portray the real events which happen in our real life. As a result, we will have more opportunity to see different style of life through watching movies, which might bring us more and different experience. Also, we could attain a lot of information and knowledge about skills and tips of our daily life, which might broaden our horizon. In this case, we can be taught something about real life by watching movies.

However, it is unfair to ignore the other factors of movies. For example, we can have fun when we watch movies. The stories of movies are usually interesting or romantic, which always make me feel impressed. For instance, I was moved by the plot of the movie called LEON, which introduced a colorful period of life of a killer named leon. In another aspect, I can relax myself and feel release from the stress of the daily life when I watch some cartoon films. Considering the reasons before, it is a wonderful approach to entertain and relax ourselves to watch movies.

In addition, not only things happen in real life does movies usually reflect, but also something fictional. For this sake, watching movies could help us to increase the ability of imagination. Actually, some invention created firstly in movies rather than in our real life.

In conclude, some movies describe stories happen in our real life, so that they can teach us important things about real life. Besides, watching movies have other advantages and merits, like we can have fun and think deeply when we watch movies. Taking all factors above into account, I can easily draw the conclusion that I disagree the point of view that the watching movies is only worth that they can teach us something about real life.

The author of the reading material raises some example to support the behavior of altruism, which means to sacrifice oneself for others' interest without pursuing reward, from human beings and other mammals. However, the professor in the lecture refute those examples to make the standpoint of the massage unwarranted.

The seeming obvious evidence of meerkat's eating behavior upon which the author relies is open to doubt. Recent research indicates that meerkat sentinel usually eats before they guard for the whole group of member. Ignoring this fact, the arguer unfairly definite the meerkat sentinel's action as altruism, which is unconvincing.

Another flaw the author suffers when he draws the conclusion that meerkat's behavior is a symbol of altruism involves the estimation about the level of dangerous the meerkat sentinel suffers. Relying on the recent research, it is the other meerkats who eat and move food are more dangerous when the predator invades. When the sentinel meerkat's alarm to alert other meerkat, they will get together and flee, which might attract the attention of the predator. In the consequence, sentimental meerkat could escape easily.

Last but not least, it is unfair to say that people who donate their kidney to reletives or even strangers have no reward from others. FOR example, they will get the appreciation from the strangers who have received the aids and even all walks of life.  Also, they will enjoy a good reputation which is really valuable and worth.
