题目：Do you agree or disagree that newspapers and magazines is the best way of learning about a foreign country.

It is an undoubted fact that a number of interesting articles about foreign countries indeed provide a lot of information when people read magazines and newspapers. However, feeling bored by just reading articles, most of people want to know more about the foreign countries. So in my perspective, going to a foreign country is the best way of learning about it.

First of all, the articles in the magazines and newspapers are not always true. There’s no denying that, newspapers and magazines are useful to provide us information about foreign countries because of the pictures, comments and basic information in them. However, the comments in newspapers and magazines are often subjective and only cite the author’s own opinion. If the author doesn’t like the country, he/she will depict the country in the opposite side. In addition, in this highly advanced era, there are many ways to modify the photos in order to make them gorgeous. Thus, to achieve the true information of a foreign country, people should travel to the country.

In addition, while going to a foreign country, people can be personally on the beautiful scenes. Totally different from just looking at the pictures on the newspapers and magazines, people can feel the spirit of the great beauty. Last year, my family traveled to China. In the past, although I had seen myriad of information and pictures of China, it is still a mystery for me. We went to Peking and visited the Forbidden Palace. I felt the solemn of it; as if saw hundreds of soldiers and bureaucrats had early meeting with the emperor. It impressed me deeply.

Last but not the least, people can talk to local people or shop in local stores in a foreign country, which they can never know how it feels until they try it themself. For example, there are always many attractive tradition costumes in different countries. Only by going to the country, people can wear them and buy them. To me, it is so amazing to try different costumes. I have had lots of photos wearing various traditional clothes from different countries such as Japan, China, Indian and so forth.

To sum up, going to foreign countries, instead of reading newspapers and magazines, is the best way for people to learn about those countries. It enables people to feel the countries they visit, and have their own comments on them.
