C选项不能等同于原文的这一句：“The onrushing water arising from these flash floods likely also formed the odd teardrop-shaped “islands” (resembling the miniature versions seen in the wet sand of our beaches at low tide) ”
因为原文括号中的句子是补充说明火星上由于outflow channel而形成的“泪珠状的岛屿”外形类似于我们的地球上（our beaches）的沙滩上潮水退去时湿沙。并不是火星上的~  C选项表述与原文不一致，是答案。

A选项对应原文中的“Flooding shaped the outflow channels approximately 3 billion years ago, about the same times as the northern volcanic plains formed.” ，正确。

B选项对应原文中的“They appear only in equatorial regions ”，正确。
