Since thefirst foundation of university, the college faculty are throughout endowed witha special mission, separated from the other groups of
faculty. Before a student enters theuniversity, he is simple and hopeful about his life. After he leaves, he isrequired to be mature and adequate enough to face the test of the society. Thistransition is marked with the instructions of the
college faculty,
of which the influence is extremely relevantto the track of their life.

Thenthere arouses a question among them: what's the criterion of the qualifiedcollege faculty. The value of a merchandise derives from the demands of thecustomer. In order to work out the answer, we must be aware of the demands ofthe students. During the phase of studying in university, students,
shapeable and hungry for knowledge, needsguidance in forming their own view, right and comprehensive, of the world,acquiring the theory of their major and developing the ability which is neededfor the practical
job. In regard tothis, we can tell a qualified college faculty should be the one who can affectthe attitude of students toward the world they live, the one who acquaintshimself with the theory they teach, and the one who are enabled to impart someefficient and efficacious knowledge, with relevance to current trends.

To beinfluential in student's view of the world, the
faculty should learn to understand their mentality. Only if the studentsfeel comprehended by the faculty will he consider the word of him. An extremelywelcome and respected teacher of our school , by whom many students areaffected, once reveals the secret of his popularity. He said "Every timewhen I want to say something, I'll first consider what you students need tohear. If my opinion goes far away from the matters you are happy with, confusedwith and reflect on, I will keep silent." These words explain thefar-reaching effects of his words. Furthermore, the teachers must walk as theytalk, substantiating the authenticity of their words.

To beequipped with the theoretical knowledge of their respective subject, thefaculty should keep pace with the progress of the academic world. He needs todo research on some basic theories, attend the International conference toacknowledge the latest breakthrough. Without a systematic and developingcognition of the knowledge they teach, they cannot set free our mind from theconstraint of the textbook and instruct us how to think with the theory we havelearnt.

To enablethe students to apply their theoretical knowledge to the practical profession,the
faculty
should walk out of
the class-room premises and contact theprofession relevant to the courses they teach.
Grounded in the real-life situations of the subject, they can train thestudents, in accordance with the their profession, to realize his subject inthe professional world.

Althoughevery era puts forwards its particular demands on the college faculty, thegeneral criterion for the qualified college faculty is unchanging, that is,teaching with knowledge and love.
