忘了顺序了。
1. New print policy, charge $ per page if you print more than 10? pages. A female student says "the idea is OK with me, I always see a lot of students print tons of material, sometimes only a title or an author is printed on a piece of paper, and the rest of the paper is left blank. It's a huge waste of material. She suggests that students jot down the title or the author and print only necessary information. Secondly, she agrees with the use of the money the new policy will generate. The money will be used to buy new printers. Currently, there are only a few printers, students have to wait to print. So the new policy will actually benefit the students as well.
2. Summer job. A female student has got a summer job in another state, so she has to rent an apartment in that state. The problem is that she has already got an adorable apartment around the school. She can afford both rents, but if she pays both rents, she will be stuck with the same laptop (or computer or the like) for another semester?? A male student suggests that she sublet the apartment. The female says if she sublets the apartment to other ppl, it will be messed up.
3. Information overload
two solutions:
1) select only a portion of the information to process and ignore the rest to make the tast easier. Example: an employer posts an ad to recruit a new employee, he received a lot more resume or applications than he had expected. So he reads only a part of every application, say, the work experimence section to make the tast easier.
2) ignore the information altogether. Example: a chemist is supposed to read new development in his field of research, and he originally receives maybe dozens of e-mails per week, but now he receives hundreds of them per week, the reading of these E-mails takes up too much of his time so that his other tasks are seriously affected. Finally, he gives up reading them altogether.
4. Plants' adaptation to harsh environment/climate in alpine area (mountainous area).
1) a kind of shrub adapted to high wind. It grows very low to the ground, just a few centimeters above the ground to avoid high wind.
2) alpine craneberry: there is a layer of wax on its leaves, it's a layer of extra-protective skin to prevent water evaporation, and it makes full use of the little water it preserves.
我觉得听得还挺全,就是关键的都没说出来,我觉得是我记的笔记太乱,没有重点,也没有利用好准备时间。再加上考场吵闹,太紧张了。唉~~ God bless me!
