有关texas学校的一个residence的调查

在申请德州的学校时，因为是绿卡身份，所以需要填写这个residence 的调查问了很多问题，比如父母在德州的是否有固定资产，是否有工作等等
还很详细的问了父母的身份，父母在德州的时间等等
还问了我在德州的高中是否读过

我疑惑的是这个调查目的是判断你的学费标准，比如是否是周内居民？
还是在判断你是否够资格一些助学金什么的调查？

如果是前者的话，该怎样填写会比较好呢？
因为我现在其实父母都已退休，但是刚来美国不久，全家都和已经在工作的姐姐住一起
