【小贴士】
WC

很早以前，厕所Toilet里都有水箱water closet, 人们一提到water closet就想到了toilet，因此water closet就成了toilet的代名词。后来为了方便，人们就用water closet的开头字母W.C.来代替toilet。

　　但wc是一种很粗俗的表达方式（相当于中国乡村常在厕所中标“大便处”“小便处”），是英美等国一二百年前使用的，现在一般不用WC，而使用TOILET等较文雅的词。在中国传入多年，许多中国人都知道WC是公共厕所的英文简称，但实际上此缩写在英文国家根本就不使用。取而代之的是Toilet 或者其他单词，所以真正讲英文的人到了中国却不知道此缩写代表什么意思。
在美国，绝对没有人使用这个缩写的。一般称为，Restroom 或者 Bathroom，有些地方也用 Washroom。在中国用 WC 来代表厕所，可以说是中式英语的一种变异。因此建议中国人，在中国，用中文，这样就可以避免这种不伦不类的现象发生了。
　　WC词义本身与Toilet区别不大，但是从修辞上说，前者给人的印象是简陋、不太卫生，而后者非但有洁净、舒适的感觉，而且还可以在里面梳妆打扮。Toilet这个词来源于法语，就连法语“香水”一词（l’eaudutoilet）也和Toilet有关，可见还是很有高雅的感觉。文雅的翻法把Toilet译作“公共洗手间”。
　　W．C.一词是water-closet的缩写，其中closet一字本作“小室”解。《二十世纪辞典》对water-closet的解释是：一间用作储藏的小室，“排出物”是用水冲走的。WC的意思易明，所以曾被广泛采用。但是由于人人皆知WC所指为何，因此有些人认为不雅，便以其他较含蓄的字眼来替代，如lavatory,restroom,bathroom,toiletpowder-room等字，都可以用来指厕所。在一般公众场所，厕所向例以性别区分，男用的多写上men，或gent’s，女用的则写上women或ladies‘。是以在外国人口中，WC一词基本已消失；但在很多以英语为基础外语的地方却还保留着，因为易于上口，一听之后便不会忘记，这可以算是语言上的一种特色。

很好奇，臭名昭著的华青帮是what….不查不知道，一查吓一跳…居然无恶不作，OK。。大家普及一下知识吧。。。
华青帮拥有东方神秘色彩的华青帮，在美国华埠一直有相当的影响，其成员对扫除异己所施行的残酷手段，让人胆颤心惊！在美国，如果要让一个人粉身碎骨，找“华青”！要一个人生活在永无止尽的恐惧，找“华青”！拥有百年历史的华青帮(Wa Ching)，不只在美国唐人街恶名昭彰，连执法的法官、联邦调查局探员、警察都惧怕叁分，历年来华青帮都是司法单位列为极欲扫除的头号犯罪组织，而这个由华人为主要成员的帮派，势力量程不仅遍布美、加地区，近年来也进军香港，中国大陆及马来西亚，如今更悄悄的潜入了台湾。
华青帮虽然势力庞大，但美国司法单位对华青帮的调查及文献记载却寥寥无几，在美国人的印象中，华青帮拥有东方神秘色彩，而其对异己施行的残酷手段，让人心惊胆颤。事实上，华青帮起源于青帮，同承一脉，均拥有应大隐于市的组织特性，二者不同的是，青帮成立的宗旨是为了反清复明，而华青创立初衷则是为了抵御种族歧视，为对抗洋人欺负移美华人而成立的组织。

　　L.A华青帮成员David Lee表示，当时从华青帮「出走」而后创帮的越青帮、黑龙会等组织，让华青大失血，再加联邦调查局乘机大肆取缔，一度让华青出现衰败的危机，但后来组织与黑手党中的西西里家族结盟，才让华青帮在唐人街的势力再度兴盛。
　　据了解，1980年代的华青帮虽然是由已故老爷子宋嘉模统领，但其年事已高，实际是由其任姓弟子负责帮务，华青帮也从此与黑手党结盟而迁入人口、军火及毒品买卖，进而对美国社会造成严重的治安危害。
　　华青帮甚至在美、墨交界的「叁不管」地带拥有一个武装严密的小岛，据了解，这个在当地称作Labas的私人小岛，距离岸边仅有200公尺，为避免遭到武装攻击而不设陆桥，岛上有严密的监控设备与强大火力，外人未获邀请难入其门，而该小岛也是华青帮重要成员每年大聚会的地点。
　　事实上，华青帮与黑手党的西西里家族几乎快划上等号，近年来在美国华埠一带传出的毒品、军火买卖，几乎都是二大帮派联手的「杰作」，更让联邦调查局头痛的是中国大陆的非法移民，这几年来在美国西岸传出的中国大陆非法移民跳船溺毙、闷死船舱，或者在陋巷发现的惨遭横死华籍人士尸体，经调查都指向是华青帮所为。
　　虽然历经多次的大扫黑，华青帮在加拿大有愈来愈肆虐现象，在美国看似大不如前，但据华青帮人士指出，也就是为避免成为美国司法部门的目标，华青帮的活动已愈来愈地下化，行事作风更低调。

Do you know how to do the snake or the half-moon? What about the monkey or the cow-face? These are all poses in yoga, a form of exercise that uses movements to combine the body and mind as one. The best way to learn is to find a class with a qualified yoga teacher. To get certified, a person has to complete at least two hundred hours of classes.

The best yoga teachers are creative. They make yoga fun and easy to learn for beginners. They should also be inspiring to the whole class. Teachers should speak knowledgably and respectfully to everyone. They should be able to teach the true meaning of yoga, leading students to a healthy mind, body and spirit.

【我的新发现】
下面的听力文本是我根据论坛里面跟帖的听写版本自己修改的。最初想找个完全正确的版本给大家贴上来。多省事啊~

Dave called his beautiful girlfriend Grace on the phone. He wanted her to stop by and check out his new apartment. When she came over, he led her into the living room. "Look at this. I have a talking clock," Dave said while pointing at a hammer and a gong.

Grace was puzzled. She said, "That's not a talking clock. It's a hammer and a gong." Dave smiled and laughed. Then, he banged on the gong with the hammer as hard as he could. It was the loudest noise that Grace had ever heard. Suddenly, a voice from the other side of the wall yelled, "Cut it out, you idiot! It's two o'clock in the morning."

Clocks for the Blind

　　Your body clock can tell the difference between day and night. This is what makes you awake during the day and sleepy at night. If you are blind, you can't tell the difference between light and dark. So most blind people suffer from insomnia and daytime sleepiness. Talking clocks help blind people know the time. These clocks will yell out the time every half hour. Now, blind people can hear the time and wake up or go to bed on a certain schedule every day.
