In this statement the author recommended that the civilans of Clearview should elect Ann Green instead of Frank Braun as the mayor of the Clearview, for the purpose of resolving the so-called environmental problems in Clearview. To support his idea the author pointed out the fact that the number of factories in Clearview has increased during the rule of Clearview town council. Also he indicated that Ann Green is one of the Good Earth Coalition. Finally he cited the statistics that indicate the increasing number of patients in local hospital.

At first glance such statement tend to be somewhat convincing but further reflection would reveal that it omit several factors, also from the logical perspective it has several logical flaws, which I will discuss in order below.

First of all, the increasing number of patients with respiratory illnesses in local hospital can hardly be correlated with the serious environmental problems in Clearview, There is a great possibility that such illnesses are mainly caused by the virus rather than the poor environmental condition.


secondly, merely based on the increasing number of factories in Clearview can hardly support the assumption of the author. Maybe there are certain restriction on the toxic effluent emitted by such factories which conducted by the town council. Moreover, even if it is true that during past year the Clearview town council did not protect the local environment can hardly illustrate the personal
view and idea of Frank Braun.


Moreover, before I draw my final conclusion I still have to point out that merely based on the fact that Ann Green is the member of the Good Earth Coalition can hardly help to support the assertion that she will place great emphasis on solving the environmental problems. There is no firm relation between the candidate's background and her upcoming activity and idea after being elected as the mayor. It is the commonsense that the policies and procedures conducted by the government are largely depends on the mayor's own idea and thought. In the statement we can hardly gain the information about Ann Green's own idea.

In sum, due to the lack of substantiated evidences the author absolutely failed to make his assertion sound. For making his assertion less ramshackle, the author needs to provide more information and evidence that can strongly support his assertion and try hard to avoid serious logical flaws. Only in that way can the author successfully draw the firm recommendation to the election.
