好难啊…………写的我想死了………………还是各种求拍
What's the relationship between rituals or ceremonies and culture? The author claims that rituals and ceremonies help define a culture and keep societies or groups out of a diminished sense of who they are. However, it oversimplifies the purposes of rituals and ceremonies and overestimates the effect of rituals and ceremonies on our culture definition. To conduct a final judgment on this issue we need have a case by case analysis.
To begin with, I do commit the notion that helping preserve the culture's identity is one of the purposes of rituals and ceremonies. Before the blood, our ancestors share some common custom, which has been handed down over thousands years and shaped as a part of our culture today. Of course in return it is the very purpose that helps continue our culture of these fussy rituals. Similarly, different culture has its own rituals and ceremonies. For instance, invocation and chapel are the basic rituals of Christianism while the Moslem must enjoy the Lesser barium the first day after Ramadan. In addition, the lost of culture will undoubtedly cause a lost sense among the societies and groups. That is, no matter what the formats of the rituals and ceremonies are, they all could and should help preserve the culture's identity and keep the concept who we are in mind.
However, pursuit of the preservation of culture identity is not the only purpose of these venerable ceremonies. These are created not only to help identify the culture, but also to satisfy our sense of security, enrich our spirit life and so on. On the one hand, rituals make us socialized and help us deal with our sensation and experience. Fixed action mode make up the ceremonies which makes individuals feel relaxed at funerals because he needn't invent a set of actions and make himself standing out from the group. On the other hand, rituals can help human beings establish a life community and conversely, they were taken by this life community in hand. Such as, offering sacrifice to the god or ancestors makes the human world a whole and acknowledges our weakness in the presence of nature. In a word, preservation of culture identity isn't and would not be the only purpose of rituals or ceremonies.
What is more, there still are many methods could be used to help identify our culture and then we can avoid getting lost inside. So that, songs, pictures and architectures could also do the same thing. Homer, the author of Iliad and Odyssey, used his words to define the culture of ancient Greek, even the subsequent west world. Approximatively, styles against Gothic architecture help fixed the culture during the period of Renaissance, which often set us thinking of the status of culture nowadays. In short, besides those rituals and ceremonies, we have a lot to do with preserving our culture identity.
From the analysis above, I strongly admit that rituals and ceremonies could help define our culture and make contribution to self-awareness of societies and groups. Yet, it's not the only purpose of rituals or ceremonies and a myriad of methods could help developing our self-awareness besides rituals. That is, for human beings nowadays, we should inherit the precious ceremonies and take more efficient steps to help define our culture. |
