do you agree or disagree:People should buy things made in their own country; even the price is higher than same things made somewhere else
With the inflation and expansion of modernization and globalization, large number of products flow into the Chinese market. Someone think that people should only buy things made in their own country. I disagree.
There is no denying the fact that patriotism as well as a sense of belonging contribute to the cohesion of a country. When people buy things made in other parts of the world, a dubious question emerges: am I contributing to the development of other countries instead of my own? This is, needless to say, a reasonable and convincible feeling at first glance. However, close scrutiny reveals that this question is both insignificant and even stupid in a world of globalization.
To begin with, I would like to say buying a product that made in other countries do not necessarily indicate that people are making contributions to other countries. That is to say, when foreign products show up in the market, the government has already charged them with taxes. With this payment, the producers have pay for their opportunities to dig into our market. Concerning too much about the place where a single product is made is nonsensical. Further, the profit one company earns is a comprehensive outcome of its human resource, marketing strategy, global economical environment etc. Whether we buy its products is just a minor element in the big picture.
Another important aspect of this issue is that choosing the local brand regardless of its higher price do not actually help the company. In contrast, this kind of action, if any, may constitute detrimental elements on the development of the company. To be more specific, when the local brands charge a higher price for the same product than foreign ones, serious retrospection and introspection of their competence, marketability and arrangements of the companies should be carried out. With the advent of globalization and urbanization, more challenges and even crisis may exercise considerable impacts on each and every company, be it local or extraneous. If one company, for instance, cannot readily survive in challenges, it deserves the failure. In other words, what we consumers should be worried about is whether the quality as well as the service one company provides fit our needs, not the place where the company originated.
To sum up, people are supposed to choose the products and services according to their needs. Only in this way, good companies would survive and prosper whereas incompetent ones eclipse in the long and winding history. |
