To adjust to the fast tempo of modern society, people tend to work fast and increase their efficiency which inevitably increases the chances to make mistakes as well. There's a heated debate on this issue, some people assert that it is more important to work quickly and risking making mistakes. Although this is true to some degree, I think it depends on what kind of work people are taking.


With respects to the work which takes a lot of time, cost much energy and is of great significance to the country such as the space project, people are supposed to work slow and make sure that everything is correct. As a matter of fact, it always takes several years to carefully finish the design of a project, overcome lots of technological obstacles and complete the construction of the spacecraft. Every aspect and every detail is payed much attention and effort just to ensure the final success. People do not have to finish the work in a hurry, but they have to ensure the final success to the largest degree. If they work too fast and make many mistakes, not only huge amount of money is lost, the astrauntants lives will also lost .As a result, when doing such work, it is important to work slowly and make as less mistakes as possible.


However, people should finish daily work quickly even though they may make more mistakes. Take doing schoolwork as a classic example. Some students may spend a whole day on several problems in order to ensure the correct rate. However, this is only a waste ot time. It does not matter if a student make mistakes since it will not bring about catastrophy. So they do no t have to make everything correct. They need to acquire the ability to finish work efficiently and spend time doing other things like doing exercise, having a gathering with friends. Also, when they are taking an exam, it is very important for them to solve problems fast. Considering the exam is time-limited, students do not have enough time to get everything right, but they can try their best to work out easy problems in order to get a higher mark. From this perspective, we can see it is more important to finish daily work quickly regardless of making mistakes.


In a word, whether one should work quickly and risk making mistakes depend on what kind of work he/she is taking.
