The speaker claims that socialization of children determines the future of society, but the disappointing point is that we have not yet learned how to raise such children to better our society. I admit that the youth of the nation determines the future of it, and the socialization of children is of crucial importance. Since education plays a vital role in socialization of children, proper education could probably bring about the children who can better our society.

It has long since been accepted that the children are entitled "hope of the future". Since socialization is of crucial importance during the growth of children, how children are socialized is certainly considered as the most influential factor which decides the future of our society. Furthermore, education, as a primary method to build the steps to the completion of socialization, plays a vital role in this process.

To begin with, the purpose of proper education is not only teaching students the basic knowledge as well as technical skills, but also includes moral education, social responsibility, healthy behavior, critical thinking, etc. All of these are indispensable during the process of socialization. These important parts, in other words, the essence of education are achieved by the current education in a variety of ways among different cultures. Values, attitudes and appropriate actions as members of a particular culture can be acquired by studying history courses, visiting museums, spending traditional holidays with family and the community or other specific cultural related activities.

In addition, the history of education reflects and encourages us in a positive way. With the similar way in which our ancestor used to educate their children, the human society becomes more and more civilized and advanced. Even now, modern education still absorbs and adopts constructive principles and methodologies from education of early age of human being. Take the greatest educator Confucius as an example, the idea of providing proper education to students in accordance of their aptitude is wildly accepted and applied in many cultures. Thus, the society developed from Stone Age to modern civilization carrying the essence of our education, which is an positive indicator gives us confidence that there might be a better society in future.

Admittedly, issues such as fierce competition, pragmatism and utilitarianism in studying, mechanical memorization learning and bullying at school can not be ignored. These problems are unavoidable in today's society due to various reasons. Nevertheless, our educators are trying their best to reduce and eliminate the negative influence brought by these problems to children. For instance, Laws concerning campus security is proposed in some states in the United States of America. Meanwhile, schools provide courses which teach students how to protect themselves and who to report when they are bullied. With the effort that our educator have made, the negative consequences brought by these problems can be reduced to some extant.

In summary, children are the hope for the future, and how they are socialized determines the destiny of society. Education is a crucial factor during the process of socialization. The history of education gives us confidence to build a better society with the essence of the education we inherited from our ancestors. Meanwhile, we also could not ignore the existing problem in current education. Thus, a better society, in a way, is determined partly by the proper education.
