Currently, the issues of advertisement is much concerned to a point where a wide discussion has been aroused. A common belief is that advertisements waste money and time of companies
because consumers know what they want to buy. In taking various factors into consideration, to large extent, I stand on the opposite of this claim and reckon that it assumes a distortedly narrow view.
I have to concede that the bad influence of too many advertisement, at a certain degree, should not be overlooked. But there are three reasons certainly contribute to support my point.
In the first place, the inherited nature of against advertisement determined a multitude of fatal defects that run the risk of messing up our lives. It is almost a impossible mission to image a world no advertisement available.
As it is known to all, with the ever-accelerated updating of science and technology, the upgrade of electronic products is rapidly. For people who want to buy a new model of mobile phone, it is ridiculous to go to the factory, which may located in UK, to ask if it has been produced already. According to a survey by News Weekly, 75% of people claimed that they benefit a lot from advertisements.
In the second place, people against advertisement seem to fail to take into account the fact that advertisements always serve as the key of sales. Companies will get nowhere if they only rely on consumers to find out what they want and if they have been produced already. Take computer for instance, consumers will not be inspired to but a iPhone4 if they totally don’t know whether it has been produced, which mean the company will probably not benefit from new inventions.
The last but not the least, there is no denying the fact that advertisement is not only a method of rising sales but also a method to improve a company’s impression on consumers. A good advertisement of their products will put companies in a favorable place in the competitive market, which means they will probably have a much more considerable returns than those not. This is why a lot of large companies such as IBM, Microsoft and BMW, place so much emphasize on advertisements.
From what have been discussed above, we can safely draw the conclusion that the claim
