5.14 independent essay:Is it easier to be asuccess in the past than it is today? 091010NA

In the past decades, everything neglected needed to be dealt with. In this case, all people shared with much more opportunities and job resources than today. As my parents always told me that “where there is a will, there is a way”, diligence, withstanding hardships and strong will seemed to be the two essential factors that contributed to the success in the past. A person who working hard will ultimately develop his/her own career and leads to success.  And it is also true that people usually obtained success even without high knowledge in those years.
With the development of globalization, we today also meet with myriad of opportunities. However, people never simply equate success in their lives with hard-working, but creative quality, knowledge, competence and so forth.  We usually have to get education containing six-year rudimentary education, six-year medium learning and four-year advanced study.  And scientific research work usually requires further professional education. Nevertheless, well-educated cannot lead to certain success. Other qualities, such as cohesive force, leadership and generosity, are crucial for entrepreneurs regarding to success in business. Moreover, it is no denying that exceptional tycoons generally own insights based on the knowledge and experience, which cannot be obtained from mere hard-working.
Moreover, education for us today is never complete with graduation, only a life-time study can put us in a favorable position in the job market. For example, teachers today have to vivify the lessons with the assistance of powerpoint, flash, and so on. Just think about that if a physics teacher play a short flash about the beginning of universe while teaching the formation of celestial bodies, how profound impression can students acquire! This is hardly can be implement by the past teachers. And in this case teachers have to learn more about software helping improving efficiency of class.
In a nutshell, people today have to gain success with ceaseless studying and industrious working in the informational and competitive society.  Any person who is blind to persistent learning will pay a heavy price.

The lecture apparenntly refute the three points revealed in the reading material. According to the reading material, it contends three competing theories. On the contrary, the professor illustrates opposite stands that the "great houses" could not be residential, grain storing place, or ceremonial centers.
The first point the professor uses to cast doubt on the reading is that though the building looks like apartment from the external glance, there are not enough fire places for daily cooking inside, which cannot support hundreds of people there. This is differ from the statement in the reading that the Chaco structures are purely residential for miriads of people.
Another evidence the speaker adopts to contradict the passage is that there are no grain trace and any broken large container founding in the building, which evidently challenge the conclusion in the reading that the Chaco structures were used as food storing room.
The third element raised by the speaker to traverse what is presented in the reading is that few broken parts coming from  ceremonial building material can be identified in the houses, and only regular trash could be found. Nevertheless, the reading material holds that the great houses were used for special ceremonies.
In the conclusion, the claims made in the reading passage are all seriously doubted by the lecture.

Apparently, what the professor argued in the lecture just contrast with the statement in the reading. According to the speaker, the dinosaurs are poikilotherms. On the contrary, the reading contends that the dinosaurs are endotherms.

The first point the professor adopt to challenge the reading passage is that the Polar region was warmer than today when the dinosaur lived there, and as the region became cold, the Polar dinosaurs might migrate  to other warm place or hibernate like modern reptiles. This differs from the stand in the reading that only endomers can survive in such cold climates such as the Polar dinosaurs.

Another evidence the speaker holds to contradict the passage is that dinosaurs are not high energy animal for run. Legs underneath the body are just imprative for hoding large weight. However, the reading states that dinosaurs' legs are underneath their body as all modern endotherms do.

The third argument raised by the professor to doubt what is present in the reading is that although the dinosaurs own Haversian canals, there are evidences that dinosaurs grow slow in the cold period, while the endotherms grow rapid either in warm or in cold. Whereas the reading holds that both the presence of Haversian canals in bone and the density of their fossilized bones indicate dinosaurs are endotherms.
