In the reading material, it suggests that a four-day workweek will helpthe company to get more profits, can reduce unemployment rates, and canincrease the employees' personal lives quality. However, in the listeningmaterial, the speaker opposes the opinions in the reading material. The reasonis as following.

Firstly, if the company adopts this policy, it will hire more employees,but this action will spend much money. Hiring more employees will entail moretraining and medical fees, whereas, the health benefits of the currentemployees keep unchanging. Meanwhile, the new employees will need moreworkspace and computers. So all these situations will reduce the company'sprofits.

Secondly, if some companies do not want to spend time and money onhiring new employees, they will ask the current employees to work more in fourdays to accomplish the workload which they should do in five days. As a result,it will increase the employees' workload and will not decrease the unemploymentrates.

Lastly, four-day workweek really gives much time for the employees toenjoy their personal lives, but it will decrease the employees' job ability. Atthe same time, the employers may dismiss these employees who choose four-dayworkweek as the employers prefer the employees who work five days per week. Soit will be harmful to the employee's careers.

Whether sports and social activities are just as important as classesand libraries and should receive equal financial support is really a problemfaced by educators. In my opinion, I strongly agree with this statement.

At first, students are not always in classes and libraries. Afterstudents finish their work they may want to have a rest and do somethinginteresting, so it is beneficial for them to take part in sports games andsocial activities. When they engage in sports and social activities, it willreduce their nervousness about the study, so it will give their fresh feelingsabout their work and increase their confidence when they come across someproblems.

Secondly, as we know, a healthy body is most important to a person. Thestudents use their brains every day, if they do not take exercises, theirhealth will be hurt. Taking part in sports activities will make their bodystronger and resistant to the viruses. Meanwhile, taking part in socialactivities will increase their interpersonal communication skill which isimportant to them when enter into the society. In the social activities, theycan talk with many students from different majors to aggrandize their knowledgeken.

At last, the class and research education quality is important to theschool, but at the same time, the quality of sports education is equallyimportant to the school. In many schools, there are many basketball teams,football teams, and volleyball teams, these teams can bring glories to theschool when they attend in some international sports meetings. So if the schoolsupports the sports education, it will make itself famous if the students orteams get some medals in the competitions.

In all, the universities and colleges should pay equally importantattention to the sports and social activities just as the classes andlibraries. It will not only benefit the students, but also the schoolsthemselves.
