Call for Graduate Research Assistant (GRA)

The department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Denver calls for application for one PH.D student position in the area of Machine Learning and Pattern Recognition. Applicants should hold a MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline with previous experience in Image Processing, Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition. Students with a good background in mathematics and computer programming are encouraged to apply for this position. It is expected that the candidates to present and publish in peer-reviewed conferences and journals. Successful applicants will work on the following research project:

Develop novel computer vision techniques for analysis of facial expression of children and adults. The long term goal is to recognize the facial expressions, gaze pattern, and other head gestures with applications in human-computer interface design as well as psychology and social development.
