Agree or disagree? If children want to do well in school, parents should limit the hours of watching TV programs or movies.
观点:反对
1.看电视不是影响在校表现的主要原因
2.看电视可以给予孩子很多知识
3.孩子学习紧张需要放松
In modern life, a growing number of children tend to spend their free time watching TV programs or movies. Some people hold the point that children should be limited on doing these in order to improve their performance in school. However, will it be a good solution to solve this problem? I’m afraid the answer is totally not.
If we make a further consideration about the problem, we’ll easily find that there is no certain cause and effect relationship between the televisions and the bad performance. Some children who study well in school, they do like watching TV and movies. It is possible that they have good study methods which can help them understand and think more efficiently, while others don’t. Also, some children do really bad jobs simply because they have no interest in study. Obviously their bad performance has nothing to do with the televisions.
In addition, not only lots of entertainment could the television bring us, it could also provides us with large amount of knowledge. TV programs related to science, history or art, they can both broaden the children’s eyes and inspire them by introducing various experiments, background or masterpieces. Not everything could be learned in school or from the parents. Children should get more approaches to learn about their society and develop their own thought. In this sense, television is really good media to give children information about the outside world.
Last but not least, parents should realize that most children has got tired with their busy studies already. They need some relax instead of being exhausted. In China, most students spend more than eight hours at school, concentrating on different subjects. Though their study or performance should be the priority to some extent, students could never be the working machine. Proper rest contributes to both metal and physical health. On the contrary, the limit of entertainment will only bore the children with the endless studies.
To sum up, no evidence shows a certain connection between children’s performance and watching TV. Moreover, children should take advantages of the benefits that television bring us rather that lose themselves in various programs.
