Childhood is the most precious time for everyone. Children need to cultivate merits and learn a lot of important basic skills for their future life. However, more and more students are addicted to TV programs and movies now which （指代什么？）need their parents to limit the hours of watching them as it is harmful for their children.

First of all, children should use the time of watching TV and movies to learn more important knowledge. If children want to have a better physical and spritital life, the most important one is study, （后面这个去掉）for them to have. With technique revolution, the competition in society is more and more crucial, leading the need of better preparation. Therefore, instead of watching TV and movies, parents should save（家长来节约？逻辑上说不通啊，用limit） children’s time for learning the skills such as programming and mathematics. After their children enter school, they would be advanced compare to other classmates. Moreover, students should read some literature and philosophy books for cultivate better merits. Through reading biography, they will assimilate greats’ strong will; through reading history, they will be smarter in handling daily life; through reading literature, they would be more gentle and careful. Through reading books instead of doing other meaningless things, they will have better life.

Secondly, spending too much time on watching TV programs and movies would build bad habit and health. Firstly, most stories from movies are not real. Nevertheless, children are too young to distinct real and fantasy and too weak to face the real after “living in fantasy world” too long. No matter how cruel the outside world is, children should learn to go and enjoy it. Additionally, watching TV and movies is not good for their health. As research shows, the people who watch TV more than 20 hours every week would be fatter than others. What’s more, as children are physically growing, they should exercise more to be stronger and taller in the future.

Admittedly, study without play can make（s） John a dumb boy. Parents can let their children watch TV and movies at limited time as they can open children’s horizon and release their stress. But Parents should not spoil them too much if parents really want do good for them.

All in all, parents should limit children’s time on watching TV and movies. Without hardworking in childhood, children would be much harder to catch up their peers in the future.
