Idealism, as we define it, is to form certain perspective about the future and thus put endeavor into the activity that are considered worthwhile to cultivate a better life or society. The speaker who claim that idealism leads to disappointment or trouble may get a point since ideal, if not fully realized, may cause disappointment and if not properly handled, may result in trouble. But I insist that idealism is the propelling power to push the society forward and any nation who lose ideal is a nation immersed in slack water of stagnation.

In the personal level, many people hold expectation about the future, which does not mean that they will discard pragmatism. Actually, any successful goal or ideal aimed at future is founded upon practical analysis and meditation of current situation and immediate background. Take the American War of Independence as an example. If it were not for the ideal the American people adhere to such as freedom and equality, people may not rally together so closely to fight for the sole sake of economic benefit and personal achievement. The slogan of freedom, independence and equality act as a beacon steering the way of Ships of American Independence and holding people tightly together. As we easily see it, based on careful planning, effective leadership and strong military operation, the idealism that people hold is by no means leads to disappointment or trouble. What is more, In people’s daily life, everyone needs a goal or ideal to make him feel they are doing something worthwhile and meaningful which stimulate them to put more effort .In the field of fine art, it is of vital importance for artists to admire idealism in their artistic creation for people to draw aesthetic beauty and inspiration out of the works of art.

In the national level, every nation use idealism as inspiration to call for joint effort of people and harmonious cooperation among different parties. No parties or leaders can lead effectively or gain public support is solely focused on practical gaining. We need not look any further to see examples being aptly illustrated in the case of Martin Luther King. Martin Luther King is a spiritual leader who struggle for the equal rights that the American society should grant to the black people and it is the dream or ideal that one day all people, black or white, will enjoy the blessing of the well-being of a society that hold people together unprecedentedly. This ideal do not suspend until today that the American society move a big step forward to endow black people equality of education and other civil rights. Even if these are not sufficient or we say a long way form what King has been dreaming at his time, this goal will continually push conscious people in attaining this final goal.  

To balance the argument, we need to observe that any idealism goes extreme will result in utopianism since idealism incubated in the soil of pragmatism and utopianism fostered out of imagination. Owen, a social reformer and idealist, consider that he would cultivate a better society where resources are abundant and people work out of pleasure instead of making a living, His experiment turns out to be a total failure since his theory goes against the general trend of the development of society which is fatal for any endeavor or reform and at the same time, in a society where resources are apparently insufficient, any attempting to pretend they are abundant is naïve and utopian.  

In the final analysis, idealism, if not go extreme to utopianism, is an effective catalyst to stimulate a person, a group or a society move forward. The title statement neglect one important factor that idealism is not based on fictional meditation but on practical effort. Idealism is the tenet on the direction of where we should march but not on how we should go. We use our feet as instrument to bring us to where we want to go and idealism is a map to direct where the final destination should be.

感觉没有你的其他文章那么出彩，可能是话题比较平庸吧。这就有一个问题了，虽然大家都喜欢大众化一些的话题，但这种话题相对来说又很难写的很深刻，比如有了电视还要看书吗？感觉像T的题目。而第一眼看很难的话题，对大家来说可能都很难，却很容易写的与众不同。

第二段大部分写的不是个人方面，而是国家方面，应着重写个人有理想的好处。第四段的让步
是说不要过分理想化，你主要写的是社会，其实可以写对个人来说，有理想还要有奋斗，要脚踏实地的去做，这也就回应了你说的理想应处理得当。

总的来说，与你的巅峰之作差距较远，感觉你没有很投入的写。你应该充分发挥你的语言优势，在思想深度上再锤炼锤炼。
