We have to recognize that friendship is an interpersonal relationship in which two people are forged a tight link with each other by something mutual or reciprocal. First of all, the catalyst towards friendship can be mutual interest. For example, two people attending the same interest group（查了一下这个词组是利益集团的意思，如果LZ想要表达社团或兴趣小组的话还是换一个吧） in the university have a higher tendency to become good friends. Such groups can be （based on similar interest in）outdoor activities, or music appreciation, or simply literature reading. With mutual(虽然文中需要用到“相同”的地方实在太多，而LZ也与similar等交叉使用了，但是还是觉得mutual用的过多了，容易产生审美疲劳) interest, communications between two individuals tend to be easier, and（as a result of which） the gap between the two will be eliminated. Money is seldom involved as a significant factor in this kind of friendship. Who cares the other is wealthier when they enjoy reading together every week?

Second, mutual benefits can also be important when engaged in business staff. In these cases, business cooperators are more likely to become good friends because of the status and resources they own in the business field. For instance, a corporation leader can make a good friend with a journalist, with the help of whom he can reveal his positive figure to the public, while(这个是表对比吧，可换成 in other words,) the journalist can write stories that exert fascination upon the readers. This is a typical example of a reciprocal friendship, and the business leader is unlikely to take economic status of the journalist into account(感觉不很地道，LZ可以考虑改改). Other examples are the friendship between journalist and the head of a nation, or a poor painter and his wealthy supporter. （to be clear）Status and benefits are the major concerns rather than money(in the cases above).

I disagree with the statement that words from our grandparents are worthless to their grandchildren because of the dramatic change during fifty years.（个人觉得还是要用past fifty years 的，不然这五十年时间段一定。）
First of all, virtues of mankind have existed for thousands of years, and there never has been great change in such a short period. The U.S. President A. Lincoln has been（时态应该是过去式吧...） praised for his virtue of hardworking, while G. Washington is well-known for his honesty. Their stories still play an important role in educating our children. Since the advice from grandparents may focus on the problem from such a perspective, the suggestion will never be out of date. 不然没有谓语动词A typical example is that my grandfather always told me how to behave well in morality and I followed his advice carefully. Now, I believe I am a person with high moral code and own a compassionate heart to others, which makes me proud of the education from my grandfather.+ h3 R5 F# Q5 H

Second, old people have experienced a lot, and in certain circumstances, their experience might be of great help to their grandchildren. For instance, when an earthquake strikes, the young man may be likely to get scared, while his grandparents could immediately tell him what to do based on their similar experience before. Such useful advice will perhaps save a life, avoiding the catastrophic consequence. Another example is that my grandmother was once a doctor. She keeps offering advice on health to all the family members, including me. Despite the fact that she has been retired for nearly thirty years, she could still tell the cause of the sickness, as well as the therapy or drug required to cure the disease according to the plentiful experience she possessed during her work. More important, sometimes their experience may not fit exactly the dilemma we are facing, but it could still serve as a lesson for us. In this way, we can make the right choice due to the experience they had.
