As is stated in the lecture given, there are sound reasons to remain skeptical about the remains of Tyrannosaurus rex, which is said to contain materials representing blood vessels, red blood cells and collagen matrix.
To start with, it is not sound to claim the soft and flexible substance as blood vessels and no something else. Actually, many other factors can account for the existence of that matter. For example, when the T. rex died, it is probably that bacteria continued to live in its body and form hollow areas in the same time. They leave such traces and the soft and flexible substance can be remnant of bacteria colonies.
In the second place, the spheres obtaining iron cannot be fully seen as remains of red blood cells. The contradiction is obvious since such iron-contained spheres are popularly found in animals in the same place where T. rex is found, even including other primitive animals that do not have red blood cells anyway. Therefore, the spheres may originate besides the red blood cells.
Last but not the least, the collagen matrix needs to be proved more overall as well. In the perspective of nowadays science, collagen is never found in organism who lived more than 100,000 years ago, which possibly indicates how long can the collagen last. But the fossil of T. rex dates back to 70 million years old, which makes the remains of collagen highly improbable. The more plausible explanation could be that the collagen is from other more recent sources, such as the skin of researchers.

Some people argue that encouraging children to take a part-time job is among the best ways to help them equipped for adult life. As far as I’m concerned, though working part-time may take up certain portion of children’s spare time, the benefits still overweigh its drawback significantly.
To start with, when taking a part-time job, children can understand financial issues in a more concrete way. For example, when a child spends the money earned by his parent, he may be wasteful sometimes. But if he earns every penny with his own effort, such as cleaning dishes in a restaurant, sending newspapers to neighbors and being a tutor, he will be likely to cherish the money and start to manage the budget more carefully.
In addition, through working part-time, children can extend curriculum learning and broaden their horizon. For example, some architecture students are engaged in part-time internship in some relevant companies. Accordingly, they can experience through the whole process of designing, building and using the architecture, which will positively affect their overall understanding of the major.
Furthermore, by taking a part-time job, children can meet people of all walks of life and enhance the possibilities of making new friends. For instance, one of the famous Japanese architect met her companion when working in a studio while studying in college. It is probable that one will meet someone sharing the same hobbies and interest, who would make contributions to a more fabulous and attractive social life.
In short, there’s no denying that taking a part-time job is a good choice for most students. Although the jobs might be tiring and time-consuming to some extent, above all they can benefit children by providing a circumspective financial comprehension, broader and supplementary knowledge and opportunities to develop new friendship. |
