Dear **,
Congratulations again on your acceptance into Northeastern’s PhD program in Economics. I am now responding to your request for financial aid. Every year we have more qualified aid applicants than we have awards to give. This year we have about ten financial aid applicants for every funded position that we can fill. In most cases, we simply have to tell applicants that there is no aid available. The admissions committee ranked you very high. As a result, we are placing you on a wait list for a teaching assistantship. A first round of financial aid offers has already been sent. Invariably, however, some applicants turn down our offers. When that occurs, we make offers to those on our wait list. It is not possible to predict in advance how deep into the wait list we may go, since each year is different. However, we place only a small number of students – less than five - on the wait list so that the odds of receiving an offer of financial aid are reasonably good. We expect to be in touch with you soon with an update. In turn, we would appreciate it if you let us know if you are still interested in financial aid, or if you have plans to attend another program. In either event, please contact me by phone or by e-mail to let me know of your interest. We look forward to having you join us in September.

东北大学仍然是啥也不理我，连你那个邮件都没有，我很迷茫真的

那这位同学你还去吗？？

学费加生活费要5.5一年，希望第二年开始有奖学金。。。
如果在没有消息。。。我过两天给学校打个电话问问，能不能第二个学期开始申奖。。。

P.S. 我之前一直没有消息，然后我就给他们打电话，我说好几个月了怎么什么消息都没有，连AD都没有！！他们告诉我说是他们的工作失误，没给我发。。。。。

之后我又发了3封邮件追问奖。。。他们说我在WL上。。。。怎么总是把我忘了。。

其他学校都被REJ了。。。这个是唯一希望了。。。

说的有点长了。。sorry

总之，我觉得既然选择了留学这个道路，我们还是坚持吧

谁能理解我们这些非牛人之痛呢～？！

我简单的分析了一下，这个学校成本还是比较高。

5年的机会成本+5.5w（如果第一年木有奖）= 较好的地理位置+学校综合排名+CO-OP(虽然目前只有MA童鞋才有)+很好的学习氛围

看你觉得的值不值的了。

这个学校学术排名基本可以忽略不计了，所以在学术界混起来可能很吃力。

相反他的位置好，会减少以后你找工作的成本。
