The line chart shows five different levels of post-school qualifications in Australia and the proportion of each gender who held them in the year of 1999.
In details, there are two levels of post-school qualifications that more than half of women held, namely undergraduate diploma and bachelor's degree, especially the former, climbing to a peak at 70% which is 7 times of that women with skilled vocational diploma. In the meantime, 30% and 40% females obtained postgraduate diploma and master's degree respectively.
Accordingly, the proportion of three academic qualifications of post-school, held by men outweigh 50%. They are skilled vocational diploma, postgraduate diploma and master's degree, and the first one is possessed by 90% males, ranking the leading place. By contrast, it is likely that more men tend to have higher level of qualifications than women do, like postgraduate diploma and master's degree, 40% and 20% extra men have. At the same time, the percent of undergraduate diploma male owners and that of bachelor's degree is 40% and 46% individually, slightly less than 50%
Overall, there is a significant difference of diplomas or degrees holding between two sexes in Australia.
