Do you agree or disagree with the following statement: university professors should spend more time on research than educating students.
I disagree with the point that university professors should spend more time on research than teaching their students for several reasons.
First of all,the main responsibility of college professors is to teach students specialized knowledge and give appropriate instructions on their study and life.As for students, most people only have one chance to go to university and study what they have insterests.If professors only pay attention to their research,while ignoring the importance of educating students,students will feel ignored and depressed,as a result. they couldn’t get a satisfying grade,what’s worse,their passion and motive on study will drops a lot,which have a bad effect on their colleage life.
Second,as for professors,educating won’t affect their research project,on the contrary,teaching others will at some extent propel the research’s progess.For example,a botanic professor could explain one of his or her experiment to students.through the lecturing,not only the students could get a better understanding,it also helps the professor to understand the experiment in a little depth.What’s more,communicating with youngesters could open up the lecturer’s mind and give him or her a inspiration to perfect the research.
Third,educating students could be incorporatd with the professor’s research,In fact,it won’t cost a professor’s much time to prepare an ordinary class,additionally a well-prepared class will soon get popularity from students,when students’ hearts are grasped,it is obviously easier for a professor to go on his or her class,moreover,the professor could find someone who are especially interested in his or project to join his or her programe,not only the professor get assistance from students,but the students who involved in this project could also learn practical skills and expertise.
In general,professors should take students’ education as important as their own research,interchange through professor and students would benefit both groups.

The professor thinks the policy which let employees work at four-day week instead of five-day week has more disadvantages,which contradicts the point of the reading passage.In his oppinion,this policy would affect companies' profits,overload employments and employees' personal lives.
First of all,companies have to spend more on workers,they will pay more money on the employees.Four-day worker and five-day workers should enjoy same amount of medical benefits,what's more,companies must provide more offices and computers for new employees.These neccessary costs would reduct the profits the company earns.
Second,as the professor points out,overload employment won't get good results as the passage indicates.It is costly for companies to hire a new staff,and to make sure the work be accomplished timely,companies will ask employees to work extra hours.What's worse,companies will expect 4-day workers to do same amount of work just as five-day worker,which could possibly make them overworked.
Third,four-day workers have risks in their job,which could cause a reduction of their life quality.For those who work less time in a week,their job ability would decreased,and they will likely be fired by the companies.As for companies,they prefer five-day workers than four-day workers.
Generally speaking,these three reasons are strong enough to defeat the point demonstrated in the passage.The policy which admit people to work less hours would had bad influence on both comanies and staffs.

Nowadays,government invest much money and people to construct countryside,which makes outskirts more developed than it in past,but in my opinion ,it is more convenient for people live in big cities to take care of their family members than those live in urban areas.
First of all,big cities are more prosperous than the countryside,which provide people various kind of facilities to live and play,such as hospitals,supermarkets and parks.After work,peole bring their children from home, they could buy food in the supermarket to cook a delicious dinner,after dinner the whole family may also take a walk in the park..However,for suburbians,it is hard for them to accomplish all these activities.So it is undoubtbly convenient to take care familiy members in the cites than in the countryside.
Second,transportation in big cities are more developed than in the countryside,so it won’t take salarymen much time and energy to send their children to school or old parents to hospital.As we know,people living in the city have more choices than those living far from downtown,they can walk,ride a bike or take buses,for those who work far from their home could choose to drive or take a subtrain to their office.And for the well-ranged transport system,it won’t take people much time to head to their target place.In fact,at the emergency few minutes will save a person’s life.
What’s more, it is obviously safer for people to take care of their families than in the countryside.big cities have a better management on the social security than the countryside do and they are equipped with more policemen and police stations.We often hear some kidnapping and rubbery news in distant suburbs, children and old-people are so vulnerable that they cannot protect themselves on their own,in the countryside,it is difficult to find a police station and call somebody for help,which put them in a dangerous condition.By comparing this,salarymen of big cities feel more comfortable about their family than those in the countryside.
All in all,big cities offer people a safer and comfortable environment to live, in which they can take care of their families better than they live in the countryside.

The professor mentions a new government policy which will improve the condition in archaeology,and she illustrates this policy in three sides.
First,unlike the reading passage point out,the professor says that before any construcion projects proceed,specialists and officials will meet together and examine whether or not the construction site is valuable .
If the site is recognized as an archaeology site,they will make detailed plans and take various measuresto preserve the precious artifacts,which won't cause a distruction of priceless heritages.
Second,referring to professor's talk,the financial support for archaeological research won't make a problem,because these money will be paid by construction companies.These companies have to spend a lot to preserve the archaelogical sites,so the funding they offer is enough for scientists to do study.
What's more,with the new rules,it wasn't difficult to find a job in archaeology.people in this field could be an expert and they could work for government or do the research in agencies.
In general,the rules which the professor demonstrates totally oppose the point the reading passage makes,as a result,the archeology in Britian will benefit a lot from the publication of this new rule.

Nowadays,with the rapid development of technology and science,great changes have taken place in our daily lives in recent years.However,it is well recognized
that the quality of people's lives is greatly improved with the help of scientific improvement.
First of all, people's living environment are much better than that in the past.For example,factories in the past were always seem to be dirty,depressing
and noisy,workers had to tolerate loud noises and polluted air produced by machines while they were working.It was definitely harmful to the workers' health.
Even worse,bad environment would directly cause a drop of effienticy and unsatifactory within workers,thus affect the production of the whole factory.
Additionally,there was no technique to ensure the safety of workers,which would result in hurt of workers.In the contrast,comtemporary techniques help all
these out-of-date factories become much better and advanced,a more reasonable design would make the factory look more neat and tidy,machines are designed to
be more quiet and environmental,and most of them are automatic,which reduces the possibilities workers would get hurt.

Second,people have more choices of food and entertainment with advanced technology.In the past,food were rude-produced and rarely to be tested,which the safety of food were suspected.People only had few choices to eat and they didn’t know how to differentiate between safe food and poisonous food,in other words,not only could not they enjoy various delicious produced-food,but also they undertook risks in eating untested products.Now scientific technology offer us much more food choices and make us informed of how much nutrients the food include so that we could design our own menu to satisfy daily nutrition needs.What’ s more,techniques are developed to detect the poisonousness in food which pick the unsafe one out.It guarantee us that the food we eat which are not harmful to us.

All in all,science and technology a great impact on our lives in many aspects.Owing to these techniques,our environment are improved and we have more choices to eat,which substantially change the quality of our lives.

For a long time,education is always a big problem which the public is concerned about,and parents are seen as their children's first life instructors, so they have great responsibility to raise their children and devote all their heart to the youngester's education. However, with the rapid development of technology and materials ,it is much easier for contemporary parents raise their children than in the past 50 years.

Firstly, as the economy of the country continually develops, it is much easier for adults to earn more money than in the past, and they have greater chance to be rich enough to sustain a whole family's expense. For example, in the past, in order to make money, farmers worked from the moment which sun roses from the east until the moment the darkness spreads, they worked day by day and rarely had vacations. Although they worked so hard, they didn't get much payment because of the economy stystem. Besides, their wives at home, while taking care of all the house work and raising babies,always needed to do some extra jobs to earn scattered money. According to this occasion, few people could afford the great expense of raise a child, as a result, many children were forced to work at a very young age, even worse some were abundoned to die when they were still babies.

Second, contemporary society provide people with a better environment to raise their children. There are more facilities and equipment for parents to take care of their sweethearts, for instance, for children between 3-6 years old, there are kindergardens and care-centers to keep an eye on them. In the contrast, people in the past 50 years couldn’t find a suitable place to keep their children safe when they weren’t at home. Thus these children without protection, while playing outside, were at great risk being hurt by some unexpected accidents. Consequently, parents had to pay much more attention on their children than modern parents.


Generally speaking, considering the economic and environmental factors, modern parents don’t have to worry as much as parents of the old times, in other words ,it is much easier for them to bring up a little child to a healthy grown-up in the modern society.

It is widely accepted that parents attach more attention to students’ grades because
the contemporary society take it so important, however, we cannot ignore the fact that
students could benefit a lot from student organizations or club activities,these unrelated activities will have a great impact on students’ well-being development.
   First of all, taking part in student organizations is a good chance to get to know the real society. Take the student deen for example, it is just like a minature of real society. The chief in the student deen acts as a CEO in a big company, and the vice-president, we could take him or her as the chief’s assistant. Besides these “powerful men”, all the members are the ordinary staffs in this “company”. Since students join in these organizations they could know the structure of big companies and how the whole company operates without stepping into the society.
   Furthermore, these clubs or organizations provide students with a platform to mold their character. Studies show that students who assume responsibilities of a chief or a leader in school perform better than those who are only focusing on study after graduation, in other words, they are more adaptable to the cruel society. The reason why they are much stronger than others is that they learn a lot practical other than abstract ideas or concepts in books. For instance, many freshmen struggle to be a host or a president in a club, in order to achieve this goal, they must make great efforts like giving a lecture in front of public, and learn to advocate people to take part in an activity they organize,what’s more,to be a mode,they have to balance themselves between study and student work. Apart from this,they can meet various people and make more friends,students could take advantage of this to make conections.

All in all, students could get as many benefits from clubs or organizations as from bookds. First, being a member of these groups they will get to know how a company operate and it’s a good chance for them to make new friends and mold their characters.
