This issue arrives at a hasty gerenalization. Admittedly, competition works as a double-edged sword with both negative and positive respect. Nevertheless, people should recognize the existence of it other than underrate it role in modern societies.

There is no denying that people will point out several drawbacks and negative impact which  competition has.And always it will be complemented by cooperation,another manner to act. Competition may be accompanied with blindness and spontaneity whereas cooperation means designed and consciousness. Futhermore, competition will increase some unnecessary wastage in a group to achieve a goal. Some individual in a group will compete fiercely each other while they may be easy to success if they take the attitude of cooperation.


However, people can not ignore  indispensable positive effect of competition during current phase. First of all, competition provides crucial incentive and constraints for people to act actively. In detail, people experience both potential and actual pressure to work hard in competition. Odds are that they will be defeated and supplanted once they lack efficiency and loaf on the job. Futher, they will not obtain what they want.
In general, nobody hope to be a loser from beginning. In addition, competiton turns out to be a feasible discovery mechanism. That is to say, human being can acquire the signal  of something through competition mechanism. There is a case in point: in market economy, the equlibrium price of a certain market  can be reached through competition. Such price will just reflect the signal of evaluation of the certain good in society. Also, we can find the best ones for certain purposes through some kind of competitive selections. Finally, competition will be conducive to have resources put to the optimum use. Because, obviously, only the best one can get the resources that many people all crave for.

The effects of competition as mentioned above are practically of great significance. The basic problem of human society is to meet our desire to the greatest extent,as economics indicates. However, all the resources is relative limited for human infinite desire. Therefore, how to allocate resources is the fundamentary question for huamn being. Fortunately, competiton contributes to  allocation of resources efficiently. Subject to limited resources, it helps to reach the optimum effect. That is also supported by ubiquitous competition phenomena in the world.

To sum up, we should be prudent to evaluate the role of competition. Despite negative effect of it, we must see the positive aspect of it, which is very favorable to human society.  Competition always exerts immense influence on run of society system  as well as  cooperation.
