How to get an offer PART I: apart from technical odds

Tips 1
You may be required to upload or attach a photo. If you are often commented with some positive adjectives, such as beautiful, hot, handsome and cute, the possibility of admission will increase significantly. Imagine you’re the professor and then you must not like to admit an ugly and smelly guy who takes a shower once a week. Therefore, try to let yourself look good.
And, for girls, don’t show the part over 13cm below your chin, both in your photo and interview.

Tips 2
Most universities don’t like a nerd. So do most professors. You may be in big troubles, such as poisoning, self-mutilation and S&M etc., when you contact with nerds.
The symptoms of a nerd include, but not limited to:
1. GRE 170+170;
2. GMAT 800;
3. GPA 4.0/4.0.
If you have none of above, you are a normal person and congratulations! And try to avoid your nerd quality or potential in other parts of application. You will not move the admission committee but freak them out.

Tips 3
You could do as much research as possible especially when you apply a PhD. Professors have different favor. Some appreciate guys who always prepare to work till 2 a.m., while others may look for someone knows work-life balance. If you could recognize you are the same kind as a professor, it will be easy for you to be attractive to him or her.
To the professor, a bad statement only means “never mind, I will find someone I like.” For you? Just go back disappointedly and “rolling in the deep.”

Tips 4
You may hear about five-second rule? Seven-second? Fifteen? Whatever… The primary impression of an interview is the most important part. So you see? Good-looking always works, except that you receive a telephone interview.
Learn to observe the interviewer’s reaction and to shut up on time. Don’t ridiculously think that the professor regards your words as talk show of PSY. Most of your statements are boring, even when you could not catch the interviewer’s favor.
Do not intentionally tell a story that you prepared for a long time but could not find an appropriate time to narrate. Dialogue means interactive, not personal satisfy.
