A的exaggerate明显不对，题目里有解释apparently contradicting the principle of energy conservation。contradict the principle=/=exaggerate
因此C是对的，contradict，不可信。

另外这题不需要其他线索就可以做。

请问C里的strain在这应该怎么解释？

strain表示“拉紧”等等意思，硬着头皮也可以理解的通。
但我认为应该是stain，表示“侮辱智商”的含义。
