Some people think students should be allowed to evaluate their teachers’ job
performance. Others believe that will lead to loss of respect and discipline. Discuss and
give your own opinion.

The given topic is widely existed in the education system. Traditional opinions supported the preservation of teachers’ previlage and the educational regulations. Nevertheless, I strongly supported the convention of evaluation of teachers’ job performance.
I have a handful of reasons to solidify the argument.
First, the roles of educators in schools or universities are extremely very important. For pupils, the[y] received fundamental education and will explore the world with [of] guidance of the teachers. For postgraduates in universities, professors help them to investigate the world scientifically and accurately. Therefore, the influence of teachers is unavoidable. In other words, teachers’ powers are essentially significant in the process of education. Thus, the power should be supervised and restricted. As a result, education evaluation by the students will be one of effected solutions.
Second, as Confucius said, teaching and learning interplayed positively during the education. Then it is easily accepted that students’ evaluation about teachers; lectures, person al characteristics and other things happened in their working performance are necessary, or even indispensable in modern education.
Third, the opposed viewpoints would argue that there might be some seditions against good teachers. For example, students who get low scores in exams, or punished by teachers might plot to take revenge against teachers and slander in the evaluation. My reply to this concern is that , as Chinese saying goes, people should not refrain from dining because of the possibility of choking . We will not know whether the problems initiate in the evaluations are slandering or teaching misbehaviours. Thus, positive and negative evaluations on teachers are both important . Even if there are unreal or exaggerating evaluations from students, education institutes could investigate and find out the truth.
Fourth, on extension of the third point, I have to mention that the students evaluation belong to the modern democracy and human rights system, which is a useful method to muzzle the hegemony of educators. To put it differently, to cultivate innovative students, it is highly important to affiliate the evaluation system with education.
To conclude, I have to highlight that evaluating teachers’ job performance is totally necessary. With the evaluation, the education quality and students’ human right could be well guaranteed.
