询问nus phd 的奖学金导师回复

申请14fallnus cee的phd，二月末面试，今天联系的导师发了这样的邮件
Thank you for your email. I am exploring an industrial-link scholarship which would require a 3-month internship in the industry towards the end of the PhD study. Would you be interested?

The NUS Scholarship is higher competitive and limited in numbers and an industrial-link scholarship which offer better stipend and other benefits may be available if you are agreeable with industrial internship at a later time in your study. Let me know if this could be an option for you.
我记得之前申请的时候申请表上有选择奖学金，我就选了那个research scholarship，本来以为是phd都有奖学金的，听老师这么说感觉很难拿奖啊，老师说的这个奖学金之前也没有关注过，他的意思是他自己联系的奖学金不通过学校的吗？另外如果最后拿不到奖nus可不可以自费去读phd？还是没奖就不收了？

我记得填写申请的时候有的地方让你选择不给scholarship回不回去，而且看之前的面试贴，好像有些面试官也会问到，不给钱去不去。所以这个奖学金和admission不一定是绑定的，就我看来。
