其它的地方不用管，我只看了前面的only one form of....和后面的the value of others.它的意思应该是他们想发展单独的一种形式，而忽略其它形式。extol是赞颂的意思，褒义词，排除。extinguish貌似有点过了，ignore还是比较适合的。

multiple forms of intelligence has become common now but elite universities select for and develop only one form of intelligence, the analytic. So they tend to ignore/neglect others. ("sprinkle their incoming classes with a few actors or violinists" means select for and develop only one form of intelligence, it's a metaphor).  One naturally prizes what one most possesses but multiple forms of intelligence are not preferred by elite education.(elite education就是elite university,social intelligence and emotional intelligence and creative ability就是multiple forms of intelligence)最后一句话有点惋惜的意味
