Postdoctoral/PhD-Student Research Positions
in Medical Imaging at the University of Minnesota

Research positions at postdoctoral level (available immediately) and PhD
student level (from Fall 2004 or Spring 2005) are available in the
Biomedical Functional Imaging and Computation Laboratory
(http://www.tc.umn.edu/~binhe/home1.htm) of the Department of Biomedical
Engineering at the University of Minnesota. All positions will be at the
highly ranked Institute of Technology (http://www.itdean.umn.edu/about/rankings.html).
The University of  Minnesota has one of the finest research programs and facilities in
medical imaging in the world, including the world?ˉs first 9.4 Tesla human MRI scanner.

Areas of research include: EEG/MEG inverse/forward problems, ECG inverse
problem, whole heart modeling, image reconstruction algorithms, and
functional biomedical imaging.

Requirements for Postdoc Positions: PhD degree (or to receive the PhD
degree in the near future) in biomedical engineering, electrical
engineering, physics or a related field is required. Strong analytic skills
and computer programming skills. Demonstrated ability to conduct quality
research independently. Experience in FEM/FVM analysis of
bioelectromagnetic fields preferred.

Requirements for PhD Student RA Positions: BS in Biomedical Engineering,
Electrical Engineering, or Physics is required but a MS is preferred. The
candidates should be admitted by the Biomedical Engineering PhD Program or
Electrical Engineering PhD Program, and PhD admission at the University of
Minnesota is highly competitive. Strong analytic skills, computer programming skills, and
demonstrated independent research ability are required.

Those with strong EE/Physics background and being interested in applying
their skills to biomedical imaging are encouraged to apply. To apply, send
