Topic: Some people think international tourism brings more problems than benefits. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

International tourism has become more and more accessible to our daily lives, while some people complain that it leads to more issues than benefits. Even so, in my opinion, I believe international tourism is overall a positive development.

Admittedly, the obvious downsides of international tourism cannot be denied. Complains about this industry are mostly concerned with the ecological damage it may cause such as littering in the cultural heritages. Cultural heritages are so fragile but precious that once they are damaged, they will gone forever. Also, international tourism involves long-way transportation. It not only exhausts visitors’ physical energy and consumes lots of time and money, but also use a large amount of fuel resources, which could conduce to environment pollution as well.

Still, it should be pointed out that travelling overseas is not without its advantages. Economically, with the booming tourism, the profits for the local residents are truly overwhelming, which will undoubtedly enhance their living standards. In terms of cultural communications, international tourism has its benefits as well. By means of travelling around the world, the cultural integrations between different countries will be definitely strengthened, as tourists can learn the local cultures and spread their own cultures. Additionally, international tourism has become a typical type of entertainment for individuals. If they can only stay in the same environment and have no access to fresh places, their lives will soon become monotonous. Thus, although it is time-consuming and expensive, people would rather travel around when they have spare time.

On balance, it seems to me that international tourism has more benefits than just problems if the tourists pay more attention not to damage the cultural heritages.
