Human-beings,as a group of social animals,love staying with other people.This feature enable some people to argue that the impression from people’s social group can determine the personality of themselves.While this view ,as far as i am concerned,is too superficial to be true.
(确实有些时候我们可以从社会中得到我们自我身份的定义，人会从外界反馈中得到自己的身份，小时候从父母夸奖中知道自己是好孩子，之后从老板朋友的评价中得到自己定位等）It’s doubtless that the social group can reflect people’s characters.It’s part of the human-nature to encourage us to receive feedback from the environment.During our baby time,our parents,as the first social group we belong to,will teach us how to behavior in life and if we do something wrong they will punish us.This feedback allow us to realize that our identification is a “bad kid”in the social group,and we will correct our behavior.With the growth of people,they will receive variety of feedback from their friends,their teacher,their boss,and all o these feedback help people to label them as a “good friends” “hardworking students” or “ good employee”.
(但人作为复杂动物，很多时候给别人的反馈都是主观的，比如说对于募捐有人赞赏有人认为是炫耀，对于战争，很多人都会认为自己方式正义的对方是残忍的，这种反馈太过片面）However,to say that people can only identify themselves through the social group is an overstatement.Although people can react to the feedback from environment just as other animals,they are much more complex than wild lifes.Sometimes people cannot rely on the identification from society since the feedback from the social group can be relatively subjective.For example,when people donate money too charity,some people may view this as a nice behavior,while other people might think he is just showing off.What’s more,it’s pretty common that both of the two sides in a war claim their justice and object to others cruel criminal.Those contracted oppinions are result from people’s complex emotion,which can be profoundly influenced by the interest.During this time,the value of the social feedback can be limited or sometimes even ambivalent.
