我是这么理解的哈，Americans defy the old world stuff，小米们跟Old world的观点相反。那么old world观点是什么呢？OW的观点：是settled possessiveness而非unsettling deprivation, 是the cupidity of retention而非the cupidity of seizure,是status quo defended而非attacked.这样看就很明显了，小米的观点一定就是OW的取非：是unsettling deprivation而非settled possessiveness，是the cupidity of seizure而非the cupidity of retention，是attacked而非a status quo defended。所以Americans支持的是掠夺。

我觉得杨鹏的长难句还有陈圣元的句子填空这两本书很多翻译或解释都有问题，但anyway我们自己搞明白就好啦
