12) Fifteen years ago, Omega University implemented a new procedure that encouraged students to evaluate the teaching effectiveness of all their professors. Since that time, Omega professors have begun to assign higher grades in their classes, and overall student grade averages at Omega have risen by 30 percent. Potential employers, looking at this dramatic rise in grades, believe that grades at Omega are inflated and do not accurately reflect student achievement; as a result, Omega graduates have not been as successful at getting jobs as have graduates from nearby Alpha University. To enable its graduates to secure better jobs, Omega University should terminate student evaluation of professors.
Write a response in which you discuss what specific evidence is needed to evaluate the argument and explain how the evidence would weaken or strengthen the argument.

提纲初稿:
To evaluate the argument, specific evidence about how the students get their grades, the students other achievements such as essays or patents, and the change of Alpha University.
First of all, specific evidence about how students get their grades is needed because may be a new pattern of judging students’ grades has replaced the old one used fifteen years ago.那么学生分数偏高的原因不在教评而在打分体系的改变。例如现在打分系统考虑到了考勤、课堂发言和期末考试。以前只有期末考试。
What is more, evidence about the students other achievements apart from grades should be got to judge the argument because the grades may have considerate students’ other achievement such as essays or patents.如果分数考虑到了其他成就加分,就真实反映了学生能力,不应terminate student evaluation of professors.
Finally, the change of Alpha University should be learned.有可能是因为AU的培养模式更好,或者打分更高而造成了就业优势。

讨论笔记:
第一点:需要证据证明高分来自于教学评价系统,有可能是其他原因。15年前,可能有其他原因:生源质量变高,教学改革,
