To understand the most important characteristics of a society ,one must study its major cities.

1、        研究社会是一个复杂的过程，对其主要城市研究不失为一种方法，也能在一定程度上反映社会特点；
2、        主要城市并不能完全带一个社会的特点，比如中国的农村和城市都具有自己的特色，无法只研究一个；
3、        具体划分区域进行研究更具代表性
 
With the development of society ,more and more social specialists want to understand the characteristics of society ,then a problem come up .Which city should they study to get better know about the society?
Should it take major cities as a representative to study the most important characteristics of a society ?In some respect ,it may be an efficient way to understand it because study society is a complicated process ,it will take very long time if you want to research all corners in the society and major cities in some way can be a good reflection about a society .Generally ,a major city is a society’s financial center and political center ,and prosperous district can vividly reflect the economical features of the society .On the other hand ,major cities is the most sensitive place in a society to the time trends ,they often ahead of other cities when it comes to a social transform .So, if you want to hold the characteristics of the society, especially in politic ,culture or economy ,you must study the major cities.
Some other people may bring the question that is it necessary to study other places in the society .The answer should be definitely yes .Because the major cities is just a part of the whole society not all , it may have very strong influence in the society ,but they may just a surface of a society it cannot reveal all about our society’s characteristics ,you should research it deeper .Just as today we see in China, Shanghai is a major city in China and it is a very prosperous city ,but we all know that millions of Chinese people is just live in a some town or a remote village not this big city with neon lights .For this reason ,you still think that study people live in Shanghai have more persuasion than those people?  We cannot ignore them to just study just major cities
Again, to understand the most important characteristics of a society ,one must study its major cities but with a more specific classifications of the society .And the select major district from all classifications, the characteristics can be better known.
