新GRE阅读36套exercise18中的一道题

这篇文章是新老观点对比的文章，只有第一段开头提到老观点，后面全篇都在讲新观点，可这道题抓不到老观点到底是什么。。。新观点也感觉好多，正确选项D并不是在第一段，而是后面提到的一个新观点的取反。
求大神解答~~~
